Lasik is laser assisted insitu keratomilieusis it smoothens the surface of cornea on the eye depending on the irregularity on it it is usualy done for myopic and other eye problems after the age of 18 yrs when there is no change of power any more it depends on the problem first the surgeon checks the criteria if you fall in the to be operable people also on the thickness of cornea and many more it depends on the acumen of surgeon to do and the technology he uses
