What Is A Painful Lump Inside The Tongue Suggestive Of?
Today I noticed a lump inside my tongue (literally inside. Not on the outside like a canker sore it is inside my tongue) on the left side. I can notice it when I move my tongue around it is sore. I can t squeeze it with my lips it hurts more when I play with it. It s about the size of a pea.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain a painful lump inside the tongue that has been noticed recently does not need not be some ting serious and can be due to causes like a traumatic injury leading to hematoma formation, it cn be an inflamed papillae while can be due to other causes like foreign body granuloma etc.. As of now you can start applying numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it.. Do cool compresses and suck ice pops.. Avoid spicy food... Take a soft diet and avoid hard foods to prevent irritation.. In case if there is no improvement or there is increase in the severity of symptoms you can consult an Oral Surgeon and get an FNAC done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
