Hi
I read carefully all your concerns and i can say that the first step treating GERD is lifestyle changing:
-using two pills when you lie down in bed.
-avoid spicy foods, coffee, alcohol, smoking, soft drinks
- try to eat often and little meals
- you should eat 3-4 hours before going to bed

wishing you fast recovery
