What Is Bleeding Between Periods Suggestive Of?

I started bleeding 3 weeks after my normal period which was a week before I was supposed to start again. It has been a little over a week and a half, maybe 2 if not more and I am bleeding continuously. It has a brownish/pink color to it. I took a cheap $1 pregnancy test from the Dollar General store and it was negative. I had 3 kids which were all c-sections and after my 3rd child, born in 2014, I only got my tubes tied but I didn t get them burned. Could I b having a miscarriage, pregnant, or is it something to not even b worried about???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The bleeding you have can be due to local problems of uterus, cervix / due to hormonal imbalance (ovarian or thyroid problem). Please consult a gynecologist for detailed genital examination & needful hormonal assessment to pin point the cause followed by specific treatment. Till you could meet a doctor, you should take rest, take over the counter capsules to stop bleeding (CVP Gynae).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
