hello welcome to healthcare magic. Is the pain constant, what brings it on and does it go away by itself? Is associated with anything else such as heart beating fast,
shortness of breath, sweating?
How bad is it, is it tight or burning or crushing, how long does it last? have you done any strenuous activity recently?
Chest pain can be caused by problems in the heart, lungs, muscles,
esophagus, ribs,
sternum ( bone in the center of the chest). Heart pain is usually tight, central though it can also go other parts, associated with the heart beating fast or shortness of breath and is usually brought on with activity. reflux would usually be a burning pain that may be worse in the night or early morning.
if it is the sternum or muscles the pain may vary or worsen with certain moovements and when you press some areas they may actually be tender or hurt.
problems with the lungs can also cause chest pain- diseases such as
asthma , infection of the lung or the lining of the lung ( usually the pain may be worse on taking a breath)
