What Is Causing Child To Have Vomitings And Runny Stool?
My 19 month old started vomiting about a week ago. I took him to the dr and they gave him phengran. He is still vomiting but its only at night. He has yellow runny stool and hardly no appetite. He hasnt been running a fever and still trys to play like normal but loses energy fast from not eating well. What could cause this?
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern. There could be several causes for that. One is that it could be because of gastroenteritis. This could be caused by a viral infection. There could be other causes as well. Viral hepatitis can be associated with vomiting and loss of appetite. Yellowishness of the eyes may be present. Monitor for signs of dehydration. They include 1. Decreased skin turgor 2. Increasing thirst. 3. Sunken eyes. 4. Irritability. 5. Drowsiness. 6. Decreasing passage of urine. Oral rehydration solution or any other solution containing salt and sugar should be given. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause. Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
