My 27 year old disabled son, John(contracted bacterial meningitis [proteus] at 8 days of age, suffered a massive stroke at approximately 2 wks of age, blew out the left front lobe, scattered to the right side, and at 6 weeks of age developed hydrocephalus and a vp shunt was placed......does not have fluent speech. Cognitively appears to understand everything said...unless he is tired or becoming or is ill, he does not answer. He walks, has gross and fine motor challenges, etc. He is very social in spite of no fluent speech. (He is terrific!) CURRENT PROBLEM: appears to have a stiff neck; does not have a temp, when I put heat on his back, it appears the stiffness goes away....he just went to bed and I noticed that he has cloudy urine.....Can you make anything out of this? Thanks in advance for any thoughts re: this...Mary...
