Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Sorry to know about the diagnosis. My opinion is as follows: 1. Infiltration means - it is invading into deeper tissues ( it has gone very deep) 2. poorly differentiated - means the tumor cells are difficult to identify as of origin 3. adenocarcinoma of stomach -it means epithelial carcinoma arising from glands 4. Signet ring cells with mucinous features indicate poor prognosis. 5. There are numerous factors affecting prognosis like lymphnode status, other organs involvement. Average 5 year survival rate is less than 10% in severe cases. 6. Further advise regarding treatment and prognosis is possible only after PET scan.
Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
