Patient (57 years, female) is suffering from chronic dysphagia for two years and is on Ryle s tube. Patient also has Mitral Stenosis and is on blood thinner Acitrom. Endoscopy shows vocal cord paresis. What is best course of solution? I ve attached the endoscopy report.
Hi. Noted the history of vocal cord paresis in a female patient of 57 years old and and has chronic dysphagia and is on Ryle's tube, has Mitral Stenosis and is on blood thinners. Endoscopy showed vocal cord paralysis. Hence the proper course of investigations are: MRI of the brain and the cranial nerves to see if there is any problems in the higher centers. The vocal cord paresis and paralysis can be very well treated by the transposing the cartilage or silicon. Further vocal training may help a bit.
