What Is Sickle Cell Anemia?

My aunt has sickle cell anemia and she was put in the hospital. Now she is put on life support and has bleeding on the brain. She has not been responsive for 2 days now. They try taking her off but her breathing gets real heavy and hard. Is there any hope for recovery
