What Is The Best Combination Of Insulin's For A Report Showing Hba1c Is 10.2?
Hello, I amdiabetic since 23 yrs now, taking oral medicines for about 15yrs and now on insulin for 8 yrs. since i am on insulin, My sugar is very fluctuating. in the beginning it was taking only mixtard then only lantus then both lantus at hs and mixtard at BBF and at Lunch. in the beginng of 2011 Hba1c crossed 9 then I was advised Novarapid with Lantus but after that there was considerable fluctuation in the results. sometime feels like hypoglycemia while at morning often I found level of fasting sugar very high. at present I am taking 24 and 15 unit of novarapid at BBF and Lunch and 32 unit of lantus at night. today I got the report of test that Hba1c is 10.2. what should I do? which is the best combination of Insulins and what should be the dosage? kindly guide me. thanks
dear sir I understand your concern.let me tell u some facts about your insulin.the rapid acting insulin what you are taking will cover only one meal.that means if you are taking rapid acting insulin BBF it will cover your sugar for only break fast.in my opinion the best combination of insulin is take three times inj novo rapid and one shot of insulin to cover your basal supply for 24 hrs.kindly let me know your height and weight so that I can fix up your insulin regimen......regards Dr Vamsi krishna Diabetologist
