I took my sister to the emergency earlier today cuz she couldnt take the pain of her ulcer. The gave her so many medications including 2 Vicodin's and in her ivy they gave her something stronger then morphine. Im not sure the other drug they gave her and now she is shaking/Twitching uncontrollably. the doctor said she fine but she dont feel fine and says it makes it difficult to breathe. Is there anything i can do to help her or something she could take to help the shaking.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Ulcer pain may not be that much severe unless it became perforated or associated complications. Opioid painkillers may cause respiratory depression which can lead to dyspnea.
Shivering may be due to drug action on the central nervous system lead to acute crisis or anxiety or psychosis etcetera. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
