What Is The Best Way To Treat Vocal Chord Nodules?
Hi My 4 year old son has been diagnosed with 2 vocal chord nodules that are jelly like right now. He was diagnosed via direct laringioscopy with general anesthesia. His voice had turned a little hoarse that is how we suspected it.
Want to know What is the best treatment available at his age?
Hello dear, After going through your history, I believe you have some genuine concern and I will try to help you out of this situation.
Vocal nodules are essentially due to faulty overuse of voice, like screaming, prolong talking and usually found in professionals like singers and teachers. in a child of 4 years it is extremely rare.
But if it is diagnosed and as per you it is jelly like, it can be said that it is not organised till now. At this stage with voice rest the situation can be reversed, but i wonder how we can ask the child not to talk. But yes, we can counsel the child repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly in various innovative ways. Organised vocal nodules has only one solution, i.e. SURGERY.
Hence my heart goes with you when try your best in counselling the baby.
I hope I could solve your query. Please do not hesitate to clarify more doubts for the same situation.
Thank you for the way you are in my life. Dr Ipsit Panda
