What Is The Blue Color And Warmth At The Site Of Injury?

I injuried my foot on monday, there was no bleeding but it did swell right away, there was pain at first but it went away. I iced it, used a heating pad, elevated it, wrapped it. My foot started getting cold, almost freezing to the touch, then later I would get these warm spots for a few seconds then they would go away. THe only pain I have is if the side of my foot it touched. The swelling comes and goes but always at the area where I seem to have hurt it near the cuboid. This morning my foot was pale and almost blue but the color and warmth always return.
