What Is The Cause And Treatment For Pulled Chest Muscle?

I feel certain I have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux which I had 10 yrs ago and
never again until recently. I also have a pulled chest muscle which I was
seen by a walk in clinic who prescribed prednz. and alleve. I am finished with
my rx and still have a less painful but still annoying pulled muscle. Do you
suggest I see a gastroenterologist? My understanding is that a scope at an ENT
dr would not include teating my pulled pectoral muscle. Is it even related?
Thankyou.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Treatment guidelines for a chest muscle strain or pull is as follows -
* Adequate rest for a few days
* Ice packing over the affected area once in 2 hours
* Once the acute pain subsides, Moist heat application over the affected muscles
* Gradual & gentle stretching exercises
* analgesic & muscle relaxants as needed
Hope this helps you. You can consult me again directly through my profile http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-saurabh-gupta/64132
