Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has splenomegaly and at her ultrasound yesterday they discovered a few veins that have 'no begining and no end'. They have asked for an MRI scan and have stated that this is a cause of the splenomegaly. Could you possibly tell me what this is called and wether it means she will have to have her spleen removed?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, underlying cause of splenomegaly would me matter of concern many reasons are there for that and all that need to be ruled out among them most common is chronic malaria, cardio pulmonary disease, blood disorders. With the very brief history given here nothing more can be said, age of the patient is matter of concern and other clinical history, another what "No beginning and end" stated here is completely vague most unlikely or not possible there could be something else that must have been wrongly interpreted, I would advise to talk to doctor and discus this in detail. hope this information helps.
