What Is The Cause For A Painful Swelling On My Neck?

Hi my right side of my neck hurts like a swollen gland people at work say where im pointing is my thyroid gland. Hurts to push on it and when I yawn slight pain when I turn right. Feels like I should have a sore throat but feel fine. Eating habits the same no fever doesnt hurt to swallow either. Feels like I got hit in the throat but I didnt. Has hurt for about a week. really hurts when i push on it. right about my right side collar bone, about 3 fingers up from my collar bone.
