What Is The Cause For A Swollen Sore Bump In My Groin With Sweats At Night After A Foot Injury?
I have had violent shaking (rigors) and horrible soaking sweats at night since Friday night. Yesterday morning I woke up with a very swollen and sore bump in my groin. I have determined it is a lymph node and considering I am not well, I could understand that. However, I had major foot surgery on November 12th, and my foot hurt and burned all night and I woke up with a very swollen foot that was very red and angry and had red rash bumps all over it. The rash bumps are also moving up the inside of the same ankle. Is it time to seek medical attention?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Rigors with sweating are seen in bacterial infections. A lymph node enlargement in the groin suggests presence of an infectious process in the lower limb. Presence of surgery on one foot development of red rashes on the same foot suggests infection of the surgical wound. Spread of the red rash signifies spread of the infectious process. You need to consult your surgeon for clinical examination. Clinical examination and relevant investigations will determine presence of infectious process at the surgical wound.
