What Is The Cause For Degenerative Disease Involving The Right Wrist With Narrowing Of Both The Radiocarpal And Intercarpal Joint?

H/o of rheumatoid arthritis at 27. Trying to figure out what xray of rt wrist means There is degenerative disease present and involving the right wrist with narrowing of both the radiocarpal and intercarpal joint. There is some boney sclerosis present. This has shown a marked progression since 2010. There are no definite bony erosions Identified.

Hello,
Thanks for your query.

Due to arthritic changes joint space between radius and carpal bones and between carpal bone reduced.you have to be started on medication called disease modifying anti rheumatoid drugs(DMARD) alone or in combination with biologicals (Immunomodulators). Since these are prescription drugs and regular follow up would be required, it would be best if you see your general physician for the same.
You also need regular exercises to preserve joint mobility and maintain muscle strength.
