I had a tympanoplasty in my right ear exactly 2 months ago. I have had two doctors visits since. On the first visit, some packing was taken out and I was told to use eardrops to desolve the rest as he could not visualize the TM. On the second visit, about 3 weeks, he told me there was no more packing left and that the graft had taken. I was extremely happy, except I still had a full feeling in my ear. I was so sure this was some packing that he would remove, but it was not the case. I was told that graft on the TM is "heavy" compared to the rest of the eardrum and that this is what is causing the fullness, which will subside with time. Well, it has been three months since that visit, and no improvement. Does anyone have a possibly different explanation? Will this ever improve? Is it possible there is still packing in there? Thanks!
