What Is The Cause For Pain In Swallowing And Coughing?
Having pain swallowing, somewhat noticeable when I take a deep breath. Directly beneath or inside the jugular notch region. Esophagus or trachea area. Feels like something is stuck, but it's not occluding my airway. I can breathe fine. Coughing hurts as well.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in swallowing and coughing. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sore throat which could be bacterial or viral infection, tonsillitis , viral pharyngitis and acid reflux. Need not to worry. You should avoid spicy , acidic and heavy food specially at night , eat at least one hour before going to bed and do warm saline gargles thrice a day I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and examination with laryngoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicillin or penicillin ) along with anti inflammatory and drug like sucralfate for healing of throat lining .
