hello Dr. I am experiencing pain in my left side, and blood in my urine I was in the er 3 weeks ago and they told me I was tying to pass a 2 to 3 cm stone. should I go to the er , or can I take a oxycodone pain pill they gave me for severe pain. and call my Dr in the morning?
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain in loin on left side associated with passing blood in urine (Hematuria) and have been diagnosed to have a stone of a size of ? 2-3 cm ..
Please note that stone of a size of 2-3 Cms will not pass down through ureter in to bladder.
Please confirm the size of the stone .as only stone of a size of 7-8 mm are likely to pass through ureter. In the mean while take plenty of fluids orally and pain killers advised by your Dr.
You need to consult qualified Urologist for proper assessment and further treatment.
