What Is The Cause Of Delayed Period?

I am 46 years old and have had regular menstrual periods since i was 12 years old. In Sept. 2012 i was prescribed eltroxin 100 mcg a day. I was suppose to get my period a week ago. A week late is not common for me are the pills causing my period to be delayed. i know i'm not pregnant please advise. thanks
