What Is The Cause Of Diarrhea And Intermittent Headaches When On Levothyroxine Sodium?
I have been taking levothyroxine sodium 50mcg tabs as prescribed by my md for 4 days. I have diarrhea, intermittent headaches, itching, pain in chest, frequent urination, and heartburn. I am very concerned. I have an unresponsive md who doesn t listen and since I am on low income insurance paid for by the State I cannot change doctors. I am a 70 year old female.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe, the levo thyroxine may not have any relation with the diarrhea, head ache, itching, pain chest, frequent urination, and heart burn. Any how i advise you to stop the drug for few days to observe. I think it may be an independent issue, due to some infection. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, dicyclomine hydrochloride, patacetamol, ranitidine, and diphenhydramine hydrochloride. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
