Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I vomited on Friday morning then afterwards felt very heavy, achey and weak and slightly nauseous. These symptoms started to settle down last night so today I attempted to shower, dress etc but as soon as I had ans since then, I've had a nausea/dizziness whenever I attempt to sit up, move my head or walk about which I have to do slowly. I have had vertigo in the past but coupled with the previous symptoms I think it may be something else - possibly viral? What's your opinion Doctor?
Viral infections can be associated with nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Nausea and vomiting can be solely related to dizziness or due to viral infection of the gastrointestinal tract. BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) is a cause of vertigo and the symptoms occur with certain head positions.
If it is viral then other symptoms may develop such as abdominal pain/diarrhoea (if related to the gastrointestinal tract) or cough and cold symptoms (if an upper respiratory tract infection).
You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment
I hope this helps
