Hello, I have just cleaned my ears with cotton buds. The left ear was slightly waxy as was the right but there was also blood on the cotton bud from the right ear. I never clean too deep in the ear canal. This has never happened before. I have not been ill and I am not in any pain. Could you please explain why this has happened. Many thanks.
The ear buds can injure the external ear canal. It is always advised not to use ear buds to clean. The wax is produced by the ear in order to prevent the dust and germs to enter the inner ear, if ear canal is cleaned then there is possibility of wax getting deeper into the ear and also a possibility of injury. Please avoid using ear buds.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
