What Is The Cause Of Partial Complex Seizures?

I had surgery six years ago and about two weeks after i had a seizure. I did not know at the time what seizures are, but after two months of testing i got the diagnosis of partial complex seizures. all tests are normal and my surgeon informed me there were no complications during surgery, seizures are not in my family, i did not injure my head. What do u think happend to me?

I read carefull your question.
Complex partial seizures may have different causes like cerebral tumors, vascular malformations, stroke, cerebral infections, trauma etc. This type of seizure originate from a focal part of the brain (generally were the disease is located) and have also impaired or loss of consciousness. Since they have a well located origin they have characteristics of the part of the brain wich is affected. In your case the seizures, most probably, are complication of the surgery, because of the scar in the nervous tissue (wich may have caused reorganization, neuronal loss etc). This is something that can be cleared up by anamnesis (description of seizures), observation of seizures and EEG registration. I hope i have been of help, and clarified your doubts.
