What Is The Cause Of Swelling Vein In The Right Arm?
Hello, I am experiencing pain and slight swelling of a vein in my lower right arm. It's particularly sore when I drop my arm (straight). Any ideas what could be happening? It's not delilitating pain. Also, I am 37, female and very health - no heart history etc thank you
Hi there, You might be having what is called superficial thromboplebitis. It is local inflammation of the vein. You don't have to worry about it. Use some anti-inflammatory medicines. Give warm compress. ( tab.combiflam 1 tab twice daily) It will take a week to settle down completely.
If there's redness and fever adding anti biotics will help. ( Take Augmentin duo 1gm twice daily for a week)
Take care.
