What Is The Cause Of The Back Pain After Surgery?

How could I find out if I still have endometriosis if I have had a complete hysterectomy? Surgeon tried to tell me I didn t have this but according to the surgery report I did. I have had back pain for 11 months now that had started 1 month after surgery. I have also been doing physical therapy for 8 months and going to pain mgmt. for 6 months. I have also done an mri an cat scan to see if maybe the mesh (pelvic prolapse) was causing this and was told it was not.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is due to spinal anesthesia. It is called post spinal backache.

You can try analgesics like tramadol for pain relief. It the symptoms are too disturbing, you can seek help from a neurologist for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
