What Is The Cause Of The Painful Bump On The Earlobe?
I have a small painful bump on my ear lobe next to my piercing. It is not red or visible, and only slightly painful to the touch. I can feel the bump only on one ear lobe, not the other. Should I be worried about this bump? And if so, is there something I can do to help?

The bump on the ear lobe is a small perichondritis (as similar to folliculitis elsewhere in the body). Because of the thick tightened skin on the ear lobe over the cartilage the lesion is not elevated from the skin and hence not visible. Local application of clarithromycin ointment shall heal the lesion in a day or two For pain reduction you may use local hot fomentation.
