What Is The Cause Of Vomiting And Headache?
My 11 year old son has headache, 101.4 ever vomited 12 hours ago, has been sleeping all day. wakes up every hour or so to say his head really hurts.. im concerned it could be meningitis. his pediatrician dismissed him with the answer that nothing is wrong hes fine this afternoon. what should I be looking for to take him to the er?

Hello. Thank you for your question. Based on what you describe, it sounds like your some has a stomach virus. These often come with fever. The headache is most likely due to mild dehydration. They can last several days. Meningitis would be suspected if he couldn't touch his chin to his chest. In the absence of this sign, you don't have to worry about that diagnosis. Fluids, rest, and time, will lead to resolution.
