Behcet disease is a serious immune disorder. One diagnose is made by a specialist, steroids or immunosuppressors should be started. Thease drugs can keep the disease under controle but unfortunately not able to cure! Recurrences can occure while patient is on treatment. Strict followup with treating doctor is needed.
Unless managed properly patient may loose vision!
Hi Shahid!
behcet;s is a multisystem disease of unknown etiology.ehçet syndrome is characterized by recurrent aphthous ulcers, genital ulcers, and uveitis or retinal vasculitis. Other manifestations of the disease include skin lesions, arthritis, GI lesions, CNS involvement, and vascular lesions, including aneurysms and thrombosis. In Behçet syndrome, the basic lesion is vasculitis.
Treatment of Behcet's syndrome depends on the severity and the location of its manifestations. Treatment for Behcet's disease is symptomatic and supportive. Medication may be prescribed to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. there is yet to be a permanent cure.
