What Is The Cure For Swelling, Cracking Sound In Knee Even After Taking Beserol And Ibuprofen?

Hi. Im a 30 yr old female. For about a month now, i have had swelling, tension and cracking/popping in my left knee, now i can hear a scraping noise regularly and my knee keeps popping. It might have resulted from an effort to jog after a long time, as i am trying to lose weight. I was given beserol and ibuprofen by a doctor which reduced the pain n swelling, but after a week its back now. Is it crepitus? Any cure? Im worried as i dont want a permanent problem(ofcourse). Can you help?

Dear Friend,
It seems to be a traumatic injury.
There might be a fracture , dislocation, or ligament tear .
At this age osteoarthritis is unlikely. Since you are young i would recommend you an imaging study like Xray Knee (AP & LATERAL ) or MRI Knee, in consultation with your orthopedician.
i advise you not to jog , till your problem is resolved.
