What Is The Difference Between Brain Fever And Brain Tumor?

Hi Doctor..I want to have clarity on Brain Fever and Brain Tumour.

Suppose the patient had heavy fever in a very young age,then will she be called a pateint of Brain Tumour or Brain Fever.How do we identify if he is a patient of such disease?Will she be called mentally retarded?

hi,
brain fever is common term for meningitis ,encephalitis is associated with infectious origin (bacteria,virus,fungal) with symptoms of high grade fever,vomiting,headache sometimes with altered sensorium depending upon infectious load.brain tumor is usually associated with space occupying in lesions in brain with variety of clinical manifestations some times get unnoticed in contrary to brain fever.its not must that she will be mentally retarded ,recovery is possible if it infectious origin and treated promptly
