What Is The Difference Between Eritel,Teram And Hydrochlorathiazide?
Hello, what s the difference between Eritel LN80 ( Telmisartan 80 mg & cilnidipine 10 mg tablets) & Teram H5 (Telmisartan 40 mg, Ramipril 5 mg, hydrochlorathiazide 12.5 mg). Which is better? My mom feels extreme headache after having Eritel ln 80 whereas Teram H5 did not have such effect. She is a patient of High BP, Diabetes & recently diagnosed with Thyroid.
From the literature, the combination of Telmisartan and ramipril has been associated with adverse effects. And the combination of Telmisartan and Amlodipine is better. However, since your mother is having headaches, which is probably due to the Amlodipine component, you can choose to have her take the combination of Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide.
But on top of this, I recommend a consult with your doctor to check for other causes of headache. And to check her blood pressure levels on her current medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Daryl Derick B. Dizon, General & Family Physician
