What Is The Difference Between Biopsy Through The Rectum And Penis?

I ve had three biopsies and they ve been negative and they have all been through the rectum and my brother had his done by another urologist and his doctor went through the penis. I ve never heard of this type of procedure. What is the difference and advantage of one over the other?

So it must be a case related to prostate. In case of malignant diseases, a trans rectal biopsy is preferred while in cases of benign enlargement of prostate, trans urethral (penis) route is preferred.
