Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.
If you are still gaining weight and your TSH is still raised, you could increase the dose of your
Thyronorm to 25 mcgs or 37.5 mcgs (depending on your
TSH level). Recheck your TSH in 6 weeks and see your doctor.
You could also watch what you are eating. Restrict high fat food, high sugary food and high calorie food. Restrict your
carbohydrate intake. Eat plenty of vegetables, they have less calories and also bulk you up, so you feel full. Exercise at least 45 minute to 1 hour everyday – you should do moderate exercise. Your idea with above life style changes should be to reduce 2 kg weight in 1 month (1/2 kg per week).
Joining a commercial
weight loss programme may also help you as you will have a mentor who would be closely watching over you, encouraging you and mentoring you.
I hope this answer has helped you.
Thank you
Regards
Dr Sunita Sayammagaru
