What Is The Effect Of Alcohol On Increasing Number Of T Cells And Eosinophils?
I have lymphocytic variant of Hypereosinophillic Syndrome. My immune system is producing too many T cells which in turn produce too many eosinophils. I am a social drinker and worry about the effects of the alcohol on ny increased number of T Cells and Eosinophils, Should I be worried.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Alcohol can affect nutrition. Vitamin and mineral deficiency are common along with electrolyte imbalances. Risk of cancer and gastritis present. 2. However, it has no specific effect on T cell or eosinophils. 3. Immune suppression of alcohol is usually secondary to malnutrition, which could increase risk of infection. 4. Parasitic infection could increase in alcoholics, which could increase eosinophils more. Avoid or take in limited quantities. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
