What Is The Ideal Heart Rate?

I am 65 yrs and want to stay fit. I'm 5'8" and 180 lbs. I eat rather healthy diet and exercise regularly. I was told that my heart rate of 134 immediately after treadmill is too high. I do not feel dizzy or any chest pain. Should I slow down a bit to get the HR lower?

Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern .You should not worry about.
I will try to explain you something and give you my opinion.

You should know that normal heart rate ranges between 50-100 beat for minute during normal activity.

During physical exertion we expect that maximal heart rate can go up to 220 minus your age.So, for your age, the maximal axepted heart rate is 220 minus 65,155 beat for minute.

Exeding this frequency is not recomendet.135 beat for minute, is quite normal after exercise for your age.

So, I compliment and encourage you to keep exercising becouse this is a very good thing.

Hope I was helpfull.
Best regards, Dr.Ervina.
