I am 52 years old female...my chest x-ray revealed a fairly large homgenous opacity in the left mid and lower paracardiac region...my doctor has diagnosed it as pneumonia patches and started the treatment accordingly.. Was worried whether could there be anything besides pneumonia? Kindly Help
Large homgeneous opacity in the left mid and lower paracardiac region may be due to many reasons like pneumonia,T.B,Mass etc. Your doctor has rightly prescribed full course of antibiotics. Pneumonia should be considered first.Follow up X-ray should be taken to see improvement. If it is unresponsive then you need further investigations like CT Scan. Hope i have answered your query.
