What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Stage 4 Lung Cancer?
dear sir, i am asking for my father last month he had diaganosed as lung cancer stage 4 . now under treat ment we started chemo and i want to knw whats the life expectancy and its curable ,he have large lession in lungs ,adrenal glands and lymph nodes are also enlarged,
I'm sorry for your father. Based on recent statistics of some recent studies for lung cancer, cancer life expectancy (the time at which 50% of patients are alive and 50% have passed away) is only around 8 months for persons with stage 4 lung cancer. The 5-year survival rate, that is the percent of people who are expected to be alive 5 years after a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer is sadly only 1%. While stage 4 lung cancer is not usually curable, it is treatable. Current treatments may not only improve survival, but help with the symptoms of lung cancer as well.
