What Is The Meaning Of Complex Septated Lesion Of Thyroid Revealed On MRI?
I had an MRI for my neck problems and was told today that they also saw a complex septated leision on my thyroid. My GP will be taking a look at the MRI and report tomorrow but I am trying to understand what this is and what the possibility of it being serious is. My thyroid has been out of wack for some time now but still barely within the normal range so no one would look at anything. Now this pops up and a myriad of questions are coming to mind. Can anyone enlighten me on what this could mean?
Hi, Good day. A swelling or lesion which is accidentally picked up during investigations like MRI is called as an " incidentalloma". In you case, it is a complex, septated lesion. I have few questions. HAve you ever felt like having a swelling in your neck? anf if so is it growing in size? Any chocking sensation, difficulty breathing , difficulty swallowing or cahnge in voice??
You now need a good thyroid examination by an experienced doctor as well as a detailed thyroid ultrasound scan. You need a a thyroid function test too. Based on the scans, you might require a needle test as well. Please visit a GP or an endocrinologist who will guide you further. Hope this helps
