Discuss how you would manage this patients pre-operative assessment for cataract surgery under local anaesthesia with specific reference to his anti-coagulants.
I reviewed your history. In this case cataract surgery has to be done after stopping the anti-coagulants for 3-5 days before surgery and they can started after cataract surgery. During anesthesiaadrenaline has to be avoided. Cataract surgery can be safely done with these precautions.
Cataract surgery can be done under topical or peribulbar anesthesia. He needs to get evaluated for cardiac status. Regarding anticoagulants they need to be stopped 3-5 days before surgery and they can be started again after surgery.
