What Is The Prognosis After No Movement In Legs Or Arms After Stroke?

my brother in law had a stroke a week ago, had some movement in affected arm and leg, 5 days later seemed to be getting worse instead of better. Has had no movement on affected side for the last 5 days. Doctors said it was an aftershock of the stroke. Have not been able to get blood pressure down. still in icu. what is his prognosis?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
I suggest any how just control his blood pressure first as early as possible. And if this is in control further condition will not get worst. He needs to be on anti inflammatory drugs for few days. And check his blood pressure regularly mainly daily morning after discharge too. And I am sure he will be recovering from ice and will get discharge too at this time don't forget starting of physiotherapy because this will help him to get daily functional mobility once again. Prognosis usually is not bad if blood pressure comes in control and there is no internal bleeding happening so just check on this and take suggestion from neuro surgeon as well neuro physician too. Take care
