Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The prognosis of spina bifida will depend on the type and severity of the disease. In minor cases it can be corrected by surgical methods in the immediate post op period. In severe case the condition can be life threatening and baby could not lead a normal life. We have to look for associated anomalies and if the baby is non salvageable better to go for termination.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
