What Is The Prognosis For Brain Tumor Removal With Acute Infection?
my dad had a brain tumor removed 3weeks ago it was a type 2 tumor but it was a big one. the surgeons removed 60% of it and he managed to get through the surgery ok ..he now has a infection witch is not meningitis ..they have him on the strongest antibiotics there is and also two others im not so good at remembering names of them ..the infection keeps coming back but the doctors are just telling us they have it under control but my dad seems to be getting worse ..my question is what are the chances that hes gonna make it??
Hi thank you for sharing with HCM I read your query and understand your concern Unfortunately after surgery infections may occur Nowdays doctor can protect patient with combination of antibiotics and febrility will go away after some days of treatment The most important thing is to be sure about tumor ethiology (malignant or benign ) to determine the treatment needed You should not be worried about infection as it isn't complicated with meningitis Wish you good health and fast recovery of your dad Don't hesitate to contact me for further questions or clarification Best regards Dr Eris Ranxha Neurologist
