My brother has been diagnosed with Lung cancer after his family physician kept misdiagnosing shoulder pain for a tear to the rotator cup for 2-3 months. He just had surgery for a secondary tumor on his right high arm the tumor was in and on his bone size of a golf ball. He has a small primary tumor on the bottom right lung lobe and a very small lesion on his 3rd rib right side. He had aortic valve replacement in 2006 and had many complications that have taken a few years to stablize (mini stroke, tachycardia) and he is on coumadin. Did not want to ask what stage it is but must be 3b or 4a (not in another organ). What kind of prognosis can this have? They are working with an Oncologist from Emory.
The prognosis is fair in these case. It seems like the tumor is spread outside the lungs which meens is stage 4. with stage 4 the only recomanded treatment is cemotherapy and the survival of pulmonary cancer is the lowest among all cancer
