Hi, I m having low fever since a month. Doctor got a lot of tests done, Mycobacterium Combo Test Panel being one of them. Here, I got IgM as 1.04 and according to this he says there are symptoms of TB. Now, he wants to get 1 more test done naming "CECT Thorax and Abd." I want to ask whether this doctor is giving me the right treatment?
A history of continuous low fever for a month raises suspicion of TB. There is a further positive level of TB antibodies in you. Since TB is a condition which can affect from head to toe, a complete examination is needed. A CECT of thorax and abdomen should pick up any small sign of TB that you may have. Your doctor is being right in getting you completely investigated before starting treatment because TB requires medications for 6 months to a year or more depending on the disease location. Please get your CECT scan thorax and abdomen and have a discussion on your treatment.
