What Is The Reason Coughing Or Sneezing Creates Left Shoulder Blade Pain?
Hi I have pain in my left shoulder blade it came on suddenly and has been there for a couple of days, it s constant but really hurts if I cough or sneeze, if I take a deep breath it aches, I am 46 a smoker , but I am generally healthy and quite active
Your symptoms are suggestive of pleuritic pain (pain on coughing, sneezing, deep breathing), we should first rule out lung infection (cause for pleurisy).
So, get done chest x-ray. If chest x-ray is normal, then no need to worry for lung infection.
Sometimes, simple musculoskeletal pain can also cause similar symptoms. So, take simple painkiller like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen drug. Also, apply warm water pad on affected areas.
