What Is The Reason For Bloating When Having Fever And What Is The Treatment?

Hi my son is 19 months with the flu ...fever on off for 5 days...ranging up to 104 ..sleeping excessively , lack of appetite. .been on BRAT diet..keeping his hydrated with electrolytes.. Rotating Tylenol and Advil and tepid baths...but now his tummy is bloated...should I be worried..or just let the flu pass ..I just got over it myself after a week and my oldest has it too , but less severe ..any recommendations ?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Mild abdominal fullness is common during flu . It happens because of aerophagia.
There is no cause for concern.
Let the flu pass. There is no cause for concern if he is accepting feeds well and passing stools normally

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life
